Foods and Drinks to Avoid During Pregnancy: A Comprehensive Guide

The health of the unborn child is directly impacted by the mother's diet throughout pregnancy.
Some foods and beverages are dangerous because of bacteria, poisons, or other dangerous ingredients.
The full list of things to avoid when expecting may be found here.

1. Undercooked seafood and high-mercury fish  The development of the prenatal brain is harmed by mercury.  Steer clear of sharks, tilefish, swordfish, marlin, bigeye tuna, and king mackerel.
Furthermore, because of the potential for bacterial contamination, raw seafood such as sushi, sashimi, and raw shellfish should be avoided.

2. Meat, poultry, and eggs that are either raw or undercooked  Consuming undercooked meat raises your chance of contracting foodborne diseases including listeria and toxoplasmosis.
Make sure meats are cooked through, and stay away from meals that contain raw eggs, such as homemade mayonnaise, Caesar dressing, and uncooked batter.
3. Unpasteurized Dairy and Juices: Soft cheeses like feta, brie, and blue cheese, as well as unpasteurized milk and juices, may contain listeria, which can cause pregnancy complication
4. Caffeine and Alcohol: Consuming too much caffeine (more than 200 mg per day) can result in low birth weight. Alcohol, on the other hand, should be avoided at all costs because it can cause fetal alcohol syndrome, which can lead to developmental disorders.
5. Unwashed Fruits, Vegetables, and Raw Sprouts Raw sprouts, such as alfalfa, radish, and mung beans, may contain harmful bacteria. Always wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly to remove potential contaminants.
